Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Oh My Goodness! by Lampu Kansanoh was sold in the Modern and Contemporary Southeast Asian Paintings auction at Sothebys in Hong Kong in October 2014. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of HKD 30,000.00 – 50,000.00, the actual price achieved of HKD 35,000.00 (€ 3,603.35) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Lampu Kansanoh - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Summer, which sold at auction in October 2015 for HKD 100,000.00 (€ 11,682.67).
