The majority signed and/or numbered in the negatives, titled and numbered in ink on mounts, the last mount signed and dated Lala Deen Dayal Indore 22-11-91, signed and inscribed in ink on front blank Presented to His Excellency Marquees (sic) of Lansdowne...from H.H. Maharaja Sir Anand Rao Powar...State Dhar 24th November 1891 Dated Camp Indore and annotated A.R.P.S.D., Lansdowne library label numbered 17 inside front cover, brown leather, gilt, title and photographer's credit in gilt on front cover, g.e., white-metal clasp.

This artwork by Lala Deen Dayal achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in London in September 2001. In the 19C INDIAN PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE KANWARDIP GUJRAL COLLECTION auction, the work Views of Central India sold for GBP 11,162.50 (€ 18,022.67) - well above the upper estimate of GBP 6,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Lala Deen Dayal; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot 'Views of Central India', 1880s sold at auction in March last year with the realized price of GBP 19,000.00 (€ 22,526.64).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Lala Deen Dayal erzielte im September 2001 bei Christies in London einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion 19C INDIAN PHOTOGRAPHS FROM THE KANWARDIP GUJRAL COLLECTION wurde die Arbeit Views of Central India für GBP 11.162,50 (€ 18.022,67) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von GBP 6.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Lala Deen Dayal; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit 'Views of Central India', 1880s im März letzten Jahres mit dem Hammerpreis von GBP 19.000,00 (€ 22.526,64).
