A top price for Kusakabe Kimbei - as previously expected
The work Japanese landscapes and portrait studies, circa 1880s-90s by Kusakabe Kimbei was auctioned at Christies in London in May 2000. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,115.00 (€ 3,393.80) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Japanese landscapes and portrait studies, circa 1880s-90s is the most expensive artwork by Kusakabe Kimbei that we have observed at auctions so far.
Ein Spitzenpreis mit Ansage
Die Arbeit Japanese landscapes and portrait studies, circa 1880s-90s von Kusakabe Kimbei kam im Mai 2000 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 2.115,00 (€ 3.393,80) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Auch wenn das Ergebnis damit nicht positiv überraschen konnte, ist Japanese landscapes and portrait studies, circa 1880s-90s das teuerste Kunstwerk von Kusakabe Kimbei, das wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachtet haben.
