Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kurt Schwitters could be acquired at Christies in New York in April this year for an unexpectedly low price. In the The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples auction, the work Die Kathedrale from Die Silbergäule, vol. 41/42 changed hands for USD 5,040.00 (€ 4,565.22) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 7,000.00 – 10,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kurt Schwitters achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Ja - Was? - Bild in June 2014 with an auction result of GBP 13,970,500.00 (€ 17,455,471.33).
In der Auktion The Sale of the Century: An Important Corporate Collection of Prints and Multiples wechselte die Arbeit Die Kathedrale from Die Silbergäule, vol.
