Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Beauty Under The Moon by Kuo Hsueh-Hu was auctioned at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2019, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of HKD 20,000.00 – 40,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for HKD 12,500.00 (€ 1,449.77). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kuo Hsueh-Hu achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Phalaenopsis orchird; A peaceful village; A rising sun in May this year with an auction result of HKD 176,400.00 (€ 21,143.50).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Beauty Under The Moon von Kuo Hsueh-Hu im November 2019 bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von HKD 20.000,00 – 40.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für HKD 12.500,00 (€ 1.449,77) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kuo Hsueh-Hu erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Phalaenopsis orchird; A peaceful village; A rising sun im Mai diesen Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 176.400,00 (€ 21.143,50).
