Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Watching the River by Kun Can was sold in the Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy auction at Christies in Hong Kong in November 2007. The price achieved of HKD 607,500.00 (€ 53,106.62) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as HKD 500,000.00 – 700,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kun Can achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Sleeping On The Rock in October 2014 with an auction result of HKD 5,290,000.00 (€ 544,620.91).

Die Arbeit Watching the River von Kun Can wurde im November 2007 in der Auktion Fine Chinese Classical Paintings & Calligraphy bei Christies in Hong Kong versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von HKD 607.500,00 (€ 53.106,62) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit HKD 500.000,00 – 700.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kun Can erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Sleeping On The Rock im Oktober 2014 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 5.290.000,00 (€ 544.620,91).
