Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Boy Next Door by Kudzanai Chiurai was auctioned at Christies in London in October last year, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 20,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 15,000.00 (€ 17,474.83). Other works by Kudzanai Chiurai have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2018 by the work Zimbabwean enterprise at GBP 16,250.00 (€ 18,324.99).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Boy Next Door von Kudzanai Chiurai im Oktober letzten Jahres bei Christies in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 20.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 15.000,00 (€ 17.474,83) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Kudzanai Chiurai wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2018 die Arbeit Zimbabwean enterprise mit GBP 16.250,00 (€ 18.324,99).
