Artwork auctioned at three times the upper estimate price
The work In the garden by Konstantin Korovin was worth GBP 1,198,500.00 (€ 1,337,930.45) to a buyer in November 2020. This price was achieved in the auction Russian Art at Christies in London and exceeded the previously set upper estimate of GBP 300,000.00 many times over. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Konstantin Korovin; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot View From The Terrace, Gurzuf sold at auction in June 2008 with the realized price of GBP 1,497,250.00 (€ 1,892,574.20).
