Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Unknown by Kobayashi Kiyochika was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of USD 1,080.00 (€ 832.76) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayashi Kiyochika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Unknown von Kobayashi Kiyochika kam im März 2005 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 1.080,00 (€ 832,76) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kobayashi Kiyochika erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fudo Myoo im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.097,37).
