Meiji era (1868-1912), circa 1896 and 1897
Five oban tate-e bijinga triptych prints: four from the series Hana moyo (Floral Patterns), each depicting a beautiful lady from a particular era of the Edo period, against a backdrop of customs also associated with that era, circa 1896; the fifth of similar composition, titled Hotoke from the series Kodai moyo (Ancient Patterns), dated 1897; all published by Takekawa Seikichi and all signed Kiyochika. Each sheet approx., 37.5cm x 24.4cm (14¾in x 9 5/8in). (15).
