Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Umewaka jinja Umewaka shrine by Kobayashi Kiyochika was auctioned at Christies in London in November 2002. The price achieved of GBP 1,075.50 (€ 1,684.18) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 1,000.00 – 1,200.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayashi Kiyochika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).
