Auction result well in line with expectations
The work A cat chasing a rat into a toppled lantern by Kobayashi Kiyochika was auctioned at Christies in London in July 2018. It changed hands for a price of GBP 1,375.00 (€ 1,541.68) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayashi Kiyochika achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Fudo Myoo in September 2004 with an auction result of USD 28,680.00 (€ 23,097.37).

Die Arbeit A cat chasing a rat into a toppled lantern von Kobayashi Kiyochika kam im Juli 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 1.375,00 (€ 1.541,68) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kobayashi Kiyochika erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Fudo Myoo im September 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 28.680,00 (€ 23.097,37).
