In July 2006 Christies in London held the auction JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP, which included the work Unknown by Kobayakawa Kiyoshi. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 1,800.00 (€ 2,634.99), 50% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayakawa Kiyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Showa era (1926-1989), 1930 in March last year with an auction result of USD 50,312.50 (€ 45,355.18).
Oberer Schätzpreis um 50 % übertroffen
Im Juli 2006 führte Christies in London die Auktion JapaneseArt and Design Including Netsuke from the Estate of His Royal Highness The Prince Henry, Duke of Gloucester, KG.,KT.,KP durch, in der auch die Arbeit Unknown von Kobayakawa Kiyoshi zur Versteigerung kam.
