Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Kamisuki (Combing The Hair) by Kobayakawa Kiyoshi was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2005, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 10,000.00 – 15,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 4,560.00 (€ 3,516.08). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kobayakawa Kiyoshi achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Showa era (1926-1989), 1930 in March last year with an auction result of USD 50,312.50 (€ 45,355.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Kamisuki (Combing The Hair) von Kobayakawa Kiyoshi im März 2005 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 10.000,00 – 15.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 4.560,00 (€ 3.516,08) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kobayakawa Kiyoshi erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Showa era (1926-1989), 1930 im März letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 50.312,50 (€ 45.355,18).
