It changed hands for a price of GBP 5,670.00 (€ 6,660.79) achieving a result in the upper range of the estimate price range of GBP 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Admittedly, works by Claes Molenaer have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work A Waterfall In A Mountainous River Landscape in September 2019 with an auction result of GBP 56,250.00 (€ 63,471.46).

Die Arbeit A watergate near a town with a mill von Claes Molenaer kam im März 2021 bei Sothebys in London zur Auktion. Dabei wechselte sie für einen Preis von GBP 5.670,00 (€ 6.660,79) den Besitzer und erzielte damit ein Ergebnis im oberen Bereich der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 4.000,00 – 6.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Claes Molenaer auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit A Waterfall In A Mountainous River Landscape im September 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 56.250,00 (€ 63.471,46).
