Auction result well in line with expectations

The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,160.00 (€ 1,779.39) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kishi Gantai - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Lions, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 7,800.00 (€ 5,832.21).

Die Arbeit Chinese Scholars' Amusements In Spring And Autumn von Kishi Gantai kam im März 2006 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.160,00 (€ 1.779,39) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kishi Gantai mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Lions beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 7.800,00 (€ 5.832,21) versteigert wurde.
