Auction result well in line with expectations
The work The Massai Bride Wearing a Warrior’s Face Ruff,' Kenya (Self-Portrait), 2005 by Kimiko Yoshida was sold in the Photographs auction at Christies in New York in October 2018. The price achieved of USD 10,000.00 (€ 8,824.57) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kimiko Yoshida - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work The Red Akamba with Kikuyu, Kenya, Autoportrait, which sold at auction in April 2008 for GBP 20,900.00 (€ 26,644.55).

Die Arbeit The Massai Bride Wearing a Warrior’s Face Ruff,' Kenya (Self-Portrait), 2005 von Kimiko Yoshida wurde im Oktober 2018 in der Auktion Photographs bei Christies in New York versteigert. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 10.000,00 (€ 8.824,57) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Kimiko Yoshida mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit The Red Akamba with Kikuyu, Kenya, Autoportrait beobachtet, die im April 2008 für GBP 20.900,00 (€ 26.644,55) versteigert wurde.
