Auction result misses estimated price range

When the work Wild Girls Rabbit Puppet by Kim Dingle was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2012, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,500.00 (€ 2,842.06). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kim Dingle achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May 2001 with an auction result of USD 35,250.00 (€ 41,691.31).

Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne

Als die Arbeit Wild Girls Rabbit Puppet von Kim Dingle im Juli 2012 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.500,00 (€ 2.842,06) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kim Dingle erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai 2001 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 35.250,00 (€ 41.691,31).
