Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kawada Kikuji could be acquired at Sothebys in New York in April 2017 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Photographs auction, the work 'Nude' changed hands for USD 10,625.00 (€ 9,752.18) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kawada Kikuji - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Woman of Sankt Pauli from 'Sei naru sekai -- Sacré Atavism', 25 June 1969, which sold at auction in May 2008 for GBP 18,500.00 (€ 23,532.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kawada Kikuji konnte im April 2017 bei Sothebys in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Photographs wechselte die Arbeit 'Nude' für USD 10.625,00 (€ 9.752,18) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00. Für andere Arbeiten von Kawada Kikuji mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Woman of Sankt Pauli from 'Sei naru sekai -- Sacré Atavism', 25 June 1969 beobachtet, die im Mai 2008 für GBP 18.500,00 (€ 23.532,81) versteigert wurde.
