Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2013 Christies in Dubai held the auction Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part II, which included the work City Sniper by Khaled Hafez. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 30,000.00 – 40,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 31,250.00 (€ 22,988.08) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Khaled Hafez - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Tomb Sonata In Three Military Movements II, which sold at auction in April 2013 for USD 68,750.00 (€ 52,209.90).
