This artwork by Khaled Ben Slimane achieved an unexpectedly high price at Christies in Dubai in October 2013. In the Modern and Contemporary Arab,Iranian and Turkish Art Part II auction, the work Bab al Azrak Aa'dad 3 (The Blue Door No. 3) sold for USD 62,500.00 (€ 45,976.17) - well above the upper estimate of USD 30,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Khaled Ben Slimane; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot Ascension Viii sold at auction in December 2010 with the realized price of USD 92,500.00 (€ 69,711.36).
