Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Trade Union Legislation Crocodile by Kevin Kallaugher was auctioned at Sothebys in London in March 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 500.00 – 700.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 438.00 (€ 498.69). Admittedly, works by Kevin Kallaugher have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Thatcher Mirrors Herself On De Gaulle in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 4,375.00 (€ 4,981.18).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Trade Union Legislation Crocodile von Kevin Kallaugher im März 2018 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 500,00 – 700,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 438,00 (€ 498,69) den Besitzer. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kevin Kallaugher auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Thatcher Mirrors Herself On De Gaulle im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 4.375,00 (€ 4.981,18).
