Auction result well in line with expectations
In February 2000 Christies in London held the auction British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings, which included the work The Shanghai river by Kenneth Denton Shoesmith. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 200.00 – 300.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 207.00 (€ 338.74) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kenneth Denton Shoesmith achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Rio De Janeiro in November 2010 with an auction result of GBP 5,000.00 (€ 5,974.99).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Februar 2000 führte Christies in London die Auktion British and Continental Watercolours and Drawings durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Shanghai river von Kenneth Denton Shoesmith zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 200,00 – 300,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 207,00 (€ 338,74) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kenneth Denton Shoesmith erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Rio De Janeiro im November 2010 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 5.000,00 (€ 5.974,99).
