Auction result well in line with expectations
In October 2008 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Picnic on the beach by Ken Moroney. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 1,000.00 – 1,500.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 1,062.50 (€ 1,354.31) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ken Moroney - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Punch and Judy, which sold at auction in September 2002 for GBP 2,232.50 (€ 3,547.96).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Oktober 2008 führte Christies in London die Auktion Christie's Interiors durch, in der auch die Arbeit Picnic on the beach von Ken Moroney zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 1.000,00 – 1.500,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 1.062,50 (€ 1.354,31) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Ken Moroney mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Punch and Judy beobachtet, die im September 2002 für GBP 2.232,50 (€ 3.547,96) versteigert wurde.
