Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2006 Christies in Melbourne held the auction Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II, which included the work In The Balance by Ken Johnson. The price achieved of AUD 3,585.00 (€ 2,156.28) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 3,000.00 – 5,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Ken Johnson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Dual Focus, which sold at auction in April 2005 for AUD 11,950.00 (€ 7,246.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2006 führte Christies in Melbourne die Auktion Australian, International & Contemporary Paintings Part II durch, in der auch die Arbeit In The Balance von Ken Johnson zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 3.585,00 (€ 2.156,28) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 3.000,00 – 5.000,00 angegeben worden. Für andere Arbeiten von Ken Johnson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Dual Focus beobachtet, die im April 2005 für AUD 11.950,00 (€ 7.246,40) versteigert wurde.
