Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Refuge Waters by Ken Carlson was sold in the Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, Part II auction at Sothebys in New York in March 2021. The price achieved of USD 20,160.00 (€ 17,167.67) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 18,000.00 – 25,000.00. Admittedly, works by Ken Carlson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Prairie Showdown in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 98,866.33).
