Auction result well in line with expectations
In January 2021 Sothebys in New York held the auction Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector, which included the work Crossing a Windfall by Ken Carlson. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 15,000.00 – 25,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 16,380.00 (€ 13,498.15) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Ken Carlson have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Prairie Showdown in February 2019 with an auction result of USD 112,500.00 (€ 98,866.33).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im Januar 2021 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Majestic America: Property from an Important Western Collector durch, in der auch die Arbeit Crossing a Windfall von Ken Carlson zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 15.000,00 – 25.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 16.380,00 (€ 13.498,15) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Ken Carlson auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Prairie Showdown im Februar 2019 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 112.500,00 (€ 98.866,33).
