Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kelley Walker could be acquired at Phillips in London in October 2020 for an unexpectedly low price. In the 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale auction, the work Recycle Sign changed hands for GBP 36,540.00 (€ 40,574.55) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 40,000.00 – 60,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kelley Walker achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Black Star Press in March 2018 with an auction result of GBP 572,750.00 (€ 652,107.49).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Kelley Walker konnte im Oktober 2020 bei Phillips in London für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion 20th Century & Contemporary Art Day Sale wechselte die Arbeit Recycle Sign für GBP 36.540,00 (€ 40.574,55) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von GBP 40.000,00 – 60.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kelley Walker erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Black Star Press im März 2018 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 572.750,00 (€ 652.107,49).
