Upper estimate price exceeded by more than 100%
This artwork by Keith Sonnier achieved an unexpectedly high price at Bonhams in New York in November 2021. In the Post-War & Contemporary Art auction, the work Untitled, (from the Ba-O-Ba series) sold for USD 44,062.50 (€ 39,038.27) - well above the upper estimate of USD 18,000.00. Despite this good result, it is not the highest hammer price for an artwork by Keith Sonnier; that achieved among the auctions we observed the lot without title sold at auction in November 2013 with the realized price of USD 62,500.00 (€ 45,935.62).

Dieses Kunstwerk von Keith Sonnier erzielte im November 2021 bei Bonhams in New York einen unerwartet hohen Preis. In der Auktion Post-War & Contemporary Art wurde die Arbeit Untitled, (from the Ba-O-Ba series) für USD 44.062,50 (€ 39.038,27) versteigert – und damit weit über dem oberen Schätzpreis von USD 18.000,00. Trotz des guten Ergebnisses ist dies nicht der höchste Zuschlag für ein Kunstwerk von Keith Sonnier; den erzielte unter den von uns beobachteten Auktionen die Arbeit ohne Titel im November 2013 mit dem Hammerpreis von USD 62.500,00 (€ 45.935,62).
