Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Waiting Room by Keegan Mchargue was auctioned at Christies in New York in August 2018, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 1,500.00 – 2,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 500.00 (€ 431.18). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Keegan Mchargue achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Center in May 2007 with an auction result of USD 9,600.00 (€ 7,135.95).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Waiting Room von Keegan Mchargue im August 2018 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 1.500,00 – 2.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 500,00 (€ 431,18) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Keegan Mchargue erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Center im Mai 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 9.600,00 (€ 7.135,95).
