Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Victims by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar was auctioned at Sothebys in New York in March 2017. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 40,000.00 – 60,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 43,750.00 (€ 40,895.49) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 216,000.00 (€ 161,507.40).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Victims von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar kam im März 2017 bei Sothebys in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 40.000,00 – 60.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 43.750,00 (€ 40.895,49) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 216.000,00 (€ 161.507,40) versteigert wurde.
