Upper estimated price slightly exceeded
In October 2016 Sothebys in London held the auction Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art, which included the work Untitled (Woman With Tanpura) by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar. The »bidding war« ended at GBP 60,000.00 (€ 66,841.82), 20% above the upper estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work without title, which sold at auction in March 2007 for USD 216,000.00 (€ 161,507.40).
Oberer Schätzpreis leicht übertroffen
Im Oktober 2016 führte Sothebys in London die Auktion Modern & Contemporary South Asian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Untitled (Woman With Tanpura) von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar zur Versteigerung kam. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 60.000,00 (€ 66.841,82) und damit 20% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Für andere Arbeiten von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit ohne Titel beobachtet, die im März 2007 für USD 216.000,00 (€ 161.507,40) versteigert wurde.
