Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Untitled (Hungry Soul) by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar was auctioned at Sothebys in London in October 2015, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of GBP 12,000.00 – 18,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for GBP 7,500.00 (€ 10,490.63). Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 216,000.00 (€ 161,507.40).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Untitled (Hungry Soul) von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar im Oktober 2015 bei Sothebys in London versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für GBP 7.500,00 (€ 10.490,63) den Besitzer. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Kattingeri Krishna Hebbar erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 216.000,00 (€ 161.507,40).
