Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work Skip the Light Fandango by Katherine Porter was auctioned at Christies in New York in July 2007, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for USD 3,840.00 (€ 2,800.67). Other works by Katherine Porter have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in July 2004 by the work Untitled, 1980 at USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,171.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit Skip the Light Fandango von Katherine Porter im Juli 2007 bei Christies in New York versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für USD 3.840,00 (€ 2.800,67) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Katherine Porter wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Juli 2004 die Arbeit Untitled, 1980 mit USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.171,38).
