Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Katherine Porter could be acquired at Christies in New York in January 2008 for an unexpectedly low price. In the Christie's Interiors auction, the work 1St Painting changed hands for USD 625.00 (€ 421.13) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00. Admittedly, works by Katherine Porter have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Untitled, 1980 in July 2004 with an auction result of USD 5,019.00 (€ 4,171.38).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Dieses Kunstwerk von Katherine Porter konnte im Januar 2008 bei Christies in New York für einen unerwartet niedrigen Preis ersteigert werden. In der Auktion Christie's Interiors wechselte die Arbeit 1St Painting für USD 625,00 (€ 421,13) den Besitzer – und verfehlte damit das untere Ende der Schätzpreisspanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Katherine Porter auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Untitled, 1980 im Juli 2004 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 5.019,00 (€ 4.171,38).
