The »bidding war« ended at GBP 4,064.00 (€ 6,801.75), 35% above the upper estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Katherine Bernhardt achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work without title in May last year with an auction result of HKD 3,150,000.00 (€ 373,972.60).

Die Arbeit African Violet, from Save the Children ONE HUNDRED YEARS Print Portfolio von Katherine Bernhardt wurde im Januar 2024 in der Auktion Evening & Day Editions bei Phillips in London versteigert. Das »Bietergefecht« endete beim Preis von GBP 4.064,00 (€ 6.801,75) und damit 35% über dem oberen Schätzpreis. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Katherine Bernhardt erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit ohne Titel im Mai letzten Jahres mit einem Auktionsergebnis von HKD 3.150.000,00 (€ 373.972,60).
