Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Turgid Night by Kate Nicholson was sold in the 20th Century British Art auction at Christies in London in May 2005. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 840.00 (€ 1,240.10) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kate Nicholson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Quarry Beck, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,790.30).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Turgid Night von Kate Nicholson wurde im Mai 2005 in der Auktion 20th Century British Art bei Christies in London versteigert. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 840,00 (€ 1.240,10) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Für andere Arbeiten von Kate Nicholson mussten die Käufer allerdings auch schon deutlich tiefer in die Tasche greifen – das bisher höchste Auktionsergebnis haben wir für die Arbeit Quarry Beck beobachtet, die im November 2021 für GBP 4.080,00 (€ 4.790,30) versteigert wurde.
