Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Mantle by Kate Nicholson was sold in the 20th Century British Art & Dreaming Spires; Watercolours of Oxford and Cambridge Colleges auction at Christies in London in December 2006. The price achieved of GBP 960.00 (€ 1,424.76) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as GBP 800.00 – 1,200.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by Kate Nicholson - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Quarry Beck, which sold at auction in November 2021 for GBP 4,080.00 (€ 4,790.30).
