Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Christmas Eve, a visit from Father Christmas by Kate Greenaway was auctioned at Christies in London in December 2018. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 7,000.00 – 10,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 7,500.00 (€ 8,355.67) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Other works by Kate Greenaway have already achieved higher auction prices, for example, in June 2004 the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond was auctioned for GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).

Die Arbeit Christmas Eve, a visit from Father Christmas von Kate Greenaway kam im Dezember 2018 bei Christies in London zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von GBP 7.000,00 – 10.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von GBP 7.500,00 (€ 8.355,67) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen.
