Auction result well in line with expectations
In July 2013 Christies in London held the auction Christie's Interiors, which included the work Blind man's buff: Illustration for the front cover of Kate Greenway's Book of Games, 1889 by Kate Greenaway. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of GBP 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of GBP 2,125.00 (€ 2,428.18) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kate Greenaway have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).
