Auction result misses estimated price range
This work of art by Kate Greenaway could be acquired at Christies in London in December 2004 for an unexpectedly low price. In the British and Continental Watercolours including Original Book auction, the work In the farmyard changed hands for GBP 239.00 (€ 338.25) - missing the lower end of the estimate range of GBP 300.00 – 400.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Kate Greenaway achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Study of a young girl in a garden, a border of nasturtiums and other plants beyond in June 2004 with an auction result of GBP 8,365.00 (€ 12,449.63).
