Auction result misses estimated price range
When the work "Babels torn" by Karl Momen was auctioned at Bukowski in Stockholm in November 2021, the result was somewhat disappointing. The auction house had previously given the estimated price as a range of SEK 25,000.00 – 30,000.00, of which not even the lower limit was reached - in fact, the artwork changed hands for SEK 20,000.00 (€ 1,950.92). Other works by Karl Momen have also sold for higher prices; the highest price we have seen at auction so far was achieved in October 2010 by the work "Konfrontation" at SEK 36,000.00 (€ 3,863.25).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Als die Arbeit "Babels torn" von Karl Momen im November 2021 bei Bukowski in Stockholm versteigert wurde, fiel das Ergebnis ein wenig enttäuschend aus. Das Auktionshaus hatte den Schätzpreis zuvor mit einer Spanne von SEK 25.000,00 – 30.000,00 angegeben, von der nicht einmal die Untergrenze erreicht wurde - tatsächlich wechselte das Kunstwerk für SEK 20.000,00 (€ 1.950,92) den Besitzer. Andere Arbeiten von Karl Momen wurden auch schon teurer gehandelt; den höchsten Preis, den wir bisher bei Auktionen beobachten konnten, erzielte im Oktober 2010 die Arbeit "Konfrontation" mit SEK 36.000,00 (€ 3.863,25).
