Auction result well in line with expectations
In March 2020 Sothebys in New York held the auction Contemporary Art Online | New York, which included the work The Pond by Karen Kilimnik. The price achieved of USD 16,250.00 (€ 14,733.88) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 12,000.00 – 18,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karen Kilimnik achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 390,302.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im März 2020 führte Sothebys in New York die Auktion Contemporary Art Online | New York durch, in der auch die Arbeit The Pond von Karen Kilimnik zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von USD 16.250,00 (€ 14.733,88) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit USD 12.000,00 – 18.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karen Kilimnik erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 390.302,74).
