Auction result well in line with expectations
In April 2020 Phillips in an online auction held the auction Editions Online, which included the work Dawn from Times of Day by Karen Kilimnik. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 800.00 – 1,200.00, the actual price achieved of USD 875.00 (€ 798.72) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Karen Kilimnik achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break in October 2011 with an auction result of GBP 337,250.00 (€ 390,302.74).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im April 2020 führte Phillips in einer Online-Auktion die Auktion Editions Online durch, in der auch die Arbeit Dawn from Times of Day von Karen Kilimnik zur Versteigerung kam. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 800,00 – 1.200,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 875,00 (€ 798,72) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Karen Kilimnik erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit Prince Albrecht at Home at the Castle on School Break im Oktober 2011 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von GBP 337.250,00 (€ 390.302,74).
