A top price for Karel Gomes - as previously expected
In September 2011 Christies in Amsterdam held the auction Nineteen to Now including Topographical Observations, which included the work Playing otters by Karel Gomes. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of EUR 2,500.00 – 3,500.00, the actual price achieved of EUR 2,750.00 could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Even if this result could not surprise positively, Playing otters is the most expensive artwork by Karel Gomes that we have observed at auctions so far.
