Auction result well in line with expectations
The work Fan with stream and grasses by Kamisaka Sekka was auctioned at Christies in New York in March 2012. The estimated price for the artwork was previously given by the auction house with a range of USD 2,000.00 – 3,000.00, the actual price achieved of USD 2,250.00 (€ 1,687.42) could thus just exceed the lower estimate. Admittedly, works by Kamisaka Sekka have also been auctioned for a multiple of this price - according to our records, the highest result so far was achieved by the work Chigusa (A thousand grasses) in March 2007 with an auction result of USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Die Arbeit Fan with stream and grasses von Kamisaka Sekka kam im März 2012 bei Christies in New York zur Auktion. Der Schätzpreis für das Kunstwerk wurde von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit einer Spanne von USD 2.000,00 – 3.000,00 angegeben, der tatsächlich erzielte Preis von USD 2.250,00 (€ 1.687,42) konnte den unteren Schätzpreis somit knapp übertreffen. Freilich wurden Arbeiten von Kamisaka Sekka auch schon für ein Vielfaches dieses Preises versteigert – das bisher höchste Ergebnis erzielte nach unseren Aufzeichnungen die Arbeit Chigusa (A thousand grasses) im März 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von USD 13.200,00 (€ 9.869,90).
