The work Chigusa (A thousand grasses) by Kamisaka Sekka was sold in the Japanese and Korean Art auction at Christies in New York in March 2007. The »bidding war« ended at USD 13,200.00 (€ 9,869.90), 47% above the upper estimate. With this result, Chigusa (A thousand grasses) is even the most expensive work of art by Kamisaka Sekka that we have observed at auctions so far.
