Auction result well in line with expectations
In September last year Christies in New York held the auction Centering the Figure: South Asian Modern + Contemporary Art from the Collection of Romi Lamba, which included the work Untitled (Study for Cartwheel) by K. S. Radhakrishnan. The price achieved of USD 5,040.00 (€ 5,151.79) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as USD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. However, buyers have had to dig much deeper into their pockets for other works by K. S. Radhakrishnan - we have observed the highest auction result to date for the work Maiya As Graduate, which sold at auction in November 2019 for INR 1,500,000.00 (€ 18,921.86).
