Auction result well in line with expectations
In August 2021 Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne held the auction Important Australian Art, which included the work Study for 'The Visitation', c.1968 by Justin O'Brien. The price achieved of AUD 5,166.00 (€ 4,377.97) was within expectations - the estimate range had previously been set by the auction house as AUD 4,000.00 – 6,000.00. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Justin O'Brien achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Miraculous Draught Of Fishes No. 2 in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 88,800.00 (€ 53,492.81).
Auktionsergebnis im Rahmen der Erwartungen
Im August 2021 führte Bonhams in Sydney / Melbourne die Auktion Important Australian Art durch, in der auch die Arbeit Study for 'The Visitation', c.1968 von Justin O'Brien zur Versteigerung kam. Der dabei erzielte Preis von AUD 5.166,00 (€ 4.377,97) lag im Rahmen der Erwartungen – die Schätzpreisspanne war von dem Auktionshaus zuvor mit AUD 4.000,00 – 6.000,00 angegeben worden. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Justin O'Brien erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Miraculous Draught Of Fishes No. 2 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 88.800,00 (€ 53.492,81).
