Auction result misses estimated price range
In August 2007 a collector was able to acquire the work Church Interior, Skyros by Justin O'Brien for AUD 7,800.00 (€ 4,664.22). This price was achieved in the auction Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works at Sothebys in Melbourne and was even below the estimate range of AUD 8,000.00 – 12,000.00 set by the auction house. Of course, this price has nothing to do with the top prices that other works by Justin O'Brien achieve. The highest price we have observed so far was reached by the work The Miraculous Draught Of Fishes No. 2 in November 2007 with an auction result of AUD 88,800.00 (€ 53,492.81).
Auktionsergebnis verfehlt die Schätzpreisspanne
Im August 2007 konnte ein Sammler die Arbeit Church Interior, Skyros von Justin O'Brien für AUD 7.800,00 (€ 4.664,22) erwerben. Dieser Preis wurde in der Auktion Important Australian Art Including Selected International Works bei Sothebys in Melbourne erzielt und lag noch unterhalb der von dem Auktionshaus angesetzten Schätzpreisspanne von AUD 8.000,00 – 12.000,00. Dieser Preis hat freilich nichts mit den Spitzenpreisen zu tun, die andere Arbeiten von Justin O'Brien erzielen. Den höchsten von uns bisher beobachteten Preis erreichte die Arbeit The Miraculous Draught Of Fishes No. 2 im November 2007 mit einem Auktionsergebnis von AUD 88.800,00 (€ 53.492,81).
